Overview

Located on historic Route 66 in Flagstaff, La Cura Mexican Food stands out as a vibrant spot for authentic Mexican cuisine. This cozy eatery, run by a passionate husband and wife duo, brings the rich flavors of traditional street food right to the heart of Arizona’s high country.

The main draw here is undoubtedly the tacos. Patrons rave about the pastor tacos, praised for their bold, well-seasoned profile reminiscent of an authentic taco truck experience. The passion shines through in every bite, capturing the essence of classic Mexican comfort food. Equally celebrated are the quesabirria tacos, which have become something of a legend among Flagstaff locals. These tacos successfully bridge the gap between traditional Jalisco-style birria and quesadilla fusion, delivering a melty, savory indulgence that satisfies both newcomers and long-time aficionados of Mexican cuisine.

Beyond tacos, the menu offers standout items like agua chile and ceviche, both lauded for their fresh, vibrant flavors and generous portion sizes. These dishes showcase the restaurant’s commitment to balancing bold spices with refreshing, tangy notes, perfect for cooling the palate and complementing the richer, meat-centric options.

The atmosphere at La Cura is intimate and inviting, catering largely to food lovers seeking a genuine taste of Mexican street fare. Whether you're a local or just passing through Flagstaff on a road trip, the friendly service and approachable space make it a community favorite. The restaurant’s location along Route 66 adds a nostalgic charm, enhancing the overall dining experience.

In summary, La Cura Mexican Food offers a well-curated menu centered around tacos that highlight authentic preparation and fresh ingredients. It draws an audience that appreciates traditional Mexican flavors presented with thoughtful care and friendly hospitality. For those craving flavorful, no-frills Mexican street food in Flagstaff, La Cura is a must-visit destination.

Best quesabirria tacos that I've had in Flagstaff. I have been having a very hard time finding good authentic quesabirria tacos in Flagstaff since I moved here from Phoenix. These do not disappoint.

Wow! Really good tacos! I got the mini ones and the portions were still big! Salsas were great! I highly recommend the carnitas tacos, so good! My order also included grilled onions which were the cherry on top . My wife got the agua chile and she absolutely loved it. Huge portion which was worth it. Thank you La Cura for the great service and food!

Great little food truck! The people were lovely and the carne asada tacos were absolutely wonderful. Their red sauce is was great too, has a slight kick aftertaste but nothing too spicy. 10/10 I will have to visit here again.

What a gem. We travel to Mexico often and it’s difficult to find the rich and authentic flavors that are so commonly watered down for American consumers. La Cura is dynamite! We tried the Pastor, chorizo, tripas, quesabirria and carne asada and all were fantastic. This is the best taco shop style restaurant in flagstaff right now if you are looking for bold and authentic flavors. We’ll be back!

Flagstaff has always been lacking authentic good quality Mexican food. La Cura nails it, I ordered a couple asada tacos to try it out and found myself sprinting back to order more after the first bite. Well seasoned, so tender, garnished with fresh onions and cilantro - it was fantastic. Both their red and green salsa are very tasty and compliment the dishes. The quality and taste is better or equal to little gems you'd find in southern AZ or So Cal. I will become a regular, thanks La Cura!
